The History of Montblanc
Astrua 1860 presents the Montblanc watch collection.
Astrua 1860, Authorised MontBlanc Retailer, showcases the Swiss Maison’s watch collections.
The Mont Blanc evoked by the brand – symbolized by the unmistakable six-pointed star placed at the top of every cap, reminiscent of snow-covered peaks – is the highest mountain in Europe.
True to its name, Montblanc has reached the highest summits of style since its founding in 1906, when it was born in Hamburg under the simple name “Simplo Filler Pen Company”, a manufacturer of writing instruments, yet with an unwavering ambition to craft pens of excellence.
It is no coincidence that its most exclusive lines were soon renamed “Meisterstück” – literally, "masterpiece." All over the world, Montblanc is synonymous with high-end writing. A pen (fountain, rollerball, or ballpoint) bearing the iconic white star has become one of those internationally recognized gifts of prestige.
Today, Montblanc has a firmly established reputation as a creator of excellence across all facets – from its fine leather goods to personal accessories, jewelry, and a remarkable collection of watches.
On the stunning Nicolas Rieussec single-pusher chronographs, we find true manufacture calibres. And, designed with women’s wrists in mind, the elegant yet simple Lady models are crafted for women of refined taste.
Long active in philanthropic patronage, Montblanc also collaborates with Unicef in the fight against illiteracy.
