Why we chose it:
The brand boasts an extraordinary legacy, including over one hundred space missions, six moon landings, and an impressive thirty editions of the Olympic Games as Official Timekeeper.
The Collection
Since 1848, the pioneering spirit of OMEGA has taken the brand from the Moon to the ocean depths, while also earning it the honour of timing the world's most prestigious sporting events. OMEGA continues to set records and redefine the art of mechanical watchmaking. The brand has an important legacy that includes more than a hundred space missions, including six moon landings and no less than 31 editions of the Olympic Games as 'Official Timekeeper'.
Ambassadors include Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber, Daniel Craig, and Eddie Redmayne. Italian sports personalities include: Bebe Vio, Gianmarco Tamberi, Gregorio Paltrinieri, Rossella Fiamingo, Thomas Ceccon, and Dorothea Wierer.
However, the company's mission remains innovation in the watchmaking field. This objective has led OMEGA to the launch of calibres with the Co-Axial escapement, the most important innovation in watchmaking in the last 250 years. More recently, the new Master Chronometer certification was introduced, guaranteeing the highest level of precision and resistance to magnetic fields, and in 2023, the Spirate™ technology was introduced, which equips the movement with an innovative balance spring that allows very fine adjustments to the watch's rate.

Omega Speedmaster: the conquest of the "Moonwatch"
The legendary Speedmaster was launched in 1957 powered by the calibre 321, a hand-wound chronograph movement with a column-wheel mechanism. Initially designed for racing car drivers, it is distinguished by its tachymeter bezel and its incredible resistance. In 1965, after a series of extreme tests, NASA selected it as the official watch for space missions, including the historic Apollo 11 mission in 1969. On this very mission, Buzz Aldrin wore his Speedmaster Professional, consecrating it as the first watch to touch the lunar surface and giving rise to its nickname 'Moonwatch'.
Over time, the Speedmaster collection has been enhanced with versions such as the more compact Speedmaster Reduced, the Mark II, with a revamped design, and the Racing, inspired by motor racing.
Omega Seamaster: from the ocean to the silver screen
Introduced in 1948 to celebrate the centenary of Omega, the Seamaster is the first waterproof watch produced on a large scale, establishing itself as the benchmark for diving watches. Over the years, the prestigious Seamaster line has been enhanced with very distinctive models. These include the sophisticated Seamaster Planet Ocean, designed to reach the astonishing depth of 600 metres, and the refined Seamaster Aqua Terra, a perfect synthesis of class and versatility for everyday use.
Thanks to its many evolutions, including the introduction of date models and numerous special editions, the Seamaster line stands out as one of the most recognisable and popular in the world of diving watches. Also famous on the silver screen, the Seamaster Diver 300M has become thewatch of choice for James Bond, starting with "GoldenEye" in 1995, embodying the spirit of Agent 007.
Omega Constellation: elegance and craftsmanship
Introduced in 1952, the Omega Constellation collection has always embodied watchmaking precision. The first wrist chronometers in the series were distinguished by their unique design, dominated by the famous claws, known as "Griffes": two lateral elements that attached the glass and bezel to the case. Although they have lost their technical function over time, the “Griffes” have remained an indelible symbol of this line.
Distinctive features include the gold stars at 6 o'clock, which embellish the dial with a touch of timeless style. For those who want uniqueness, Omega offers distinctive models with dials made of meteorite fragments and bezels adorned with diamonds.
Thanks to constant innovation, the collection has evolved to include modern creations such as the Constellation Co-Axial, equipped with Omega's revolutionary Co-Axial movement, which guarantees chronometric performance at the highest level.
History of Omega: from the Olympic Games to the moon
Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Omega began as a modest workshop dedicated to the creation of pocket watches. When the founder passed away, his sons moved the company to Biel/Bienne in 1880, marking the beginning of an era of increasingly advanced technical innovations. The turning point came in 1894, when Omega revolutionised watchmaking with the 19-ligne calibre, a masterpiece of accuracy that definitively consecrated the brand under the name "Omega".
In 1932, the brand took on the prestigious role of official timekeeper of the Olympic Games, consolidating its position as the world leader in precision timekeeping. In the 1960s, Omega conquered space when NASA chose the Speedmaster for all missions, including theApollo 11, making it the first watch worn on the Moon.
The brand's presence in cinema is equally significant: In fact, Omega became the official watch of James Bond, making it an icon of the silver screen and a symbol of style and adventure.
Even today, Omega continues to be synonymous with perfection, taking traditional watchmaking to new heights.
Omega's total excellence with the Master Chronometer certification
In 2015, Omega set new standards in precision, performance and magnetic resistance by introducing the Master Chronometer certification. This prestigious certification involves a two-step verification process: each movement is initially certified by Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) and then subjected to eight strict tests by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). The Master Chronometer certification guarantees exceptional levels of quality and reliability, with the option to verify the test results of each individual specimen online. The certified watches offer a 5-year warranty, reflecting Omega's commitment to creating timepieces of the highest calibre with superior performance.
Omega's 1932 Calibre: an unparalleled movement
Omega's 1932 Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre is the most complex movement made by the brand. This watchmaking masterpiece is the first movement in the world to combine a high-frequency chronograph with a minute repeater, expressing Omega's technical and craftsmanship artistry. The integration of the famous Co-Axial escapement, guarantees unprecedented accuracy and, thanks to the use of anti-magnetic components, is certified as a Master Chronometer.
The minute repeater function provides a unique experience: twin hammers striking a gong crafted from 18K Sedna™ gold emit distinct notes and sound sequences for hours, minutes and seconds. The choice of precious materials and the pursuit of sound quality make this calibre an unprecedented technical and stylistic innovation.
This extraordinary calibre is the beating heart of the Speedmaster Chrono Chime (ref: 522.50.45.52.03.001) and the Olympic 1932 Chrono Chime: two watches that represent the ultimate expression of Omega's watchmaking mastery.
