This hat has a medium-sized brim of 6 cm and is made entirely by hand from fine Ecuadorian palm straw, dried in the sun and finely woven. The exclusive 4 cm bemberg weave jacquard ribbon - designed by Astrua - is alongside a metallic ring with a rose gold finish.
Purchase nowThe master artisans of Ecuador finely weave the best local straw entirely by hand, working only in the small hours of the night to take advantage of the humidity and absence of light. This enhances the straw’s elasticity and pliability, resulting in a uniquely textured material.
The intricate weave, which can take up to six months to complete, is then entrusted to the master craftsmen at Borsalino, who shape it into its iconic form.
When the ribbon is added, the middle brim is stiffened further, before the hat is ready for the final stages: decoration, stitching, inspection and boxing.
The exclusive bemberg jacquard weave ribbon - the Astrua design, which picks up on the brand's iconic style - is embellished with a metallic ring finished in rose gold.
