Jaeger-LeCoultre
Why we chose it:
Known to collectors worldwide as “La Grande Maison,” the Le Sentier manufacture is a benchmark of exceptional technical mastery.
The Collection
The roots of the Grand Maison, as it is known among enthusiasts, go back to 1833, when Antoine Le Coultre opened his atelier in Le Sentier, later signing his own partnership with Edmond Jaeger. Since that date, there have been countless innovations and inventions from Jaeger-LeCoultre, always at the forefront of both movements and case shapes, such as the Reverso's iconic rectangular tilting case, which dates back to 1931.

The History and Inventions of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Maison
In 1833, from the encounter between the Swiss precision of Antoine LeCoultre and the Parisian ingenuity of Edmond Jaeger, one of the most celebrated ateliers in watchmaking tradition was born. Jaeger-LeCoultre is style, innovation, and heritage: a signature that has turned time into art, where technical mastery meets the elegance of Art Deco.
Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the few manufactures capable of designing, developing, assembling, and decorating every single component in-house. Each timepiece is created at the historic Manufacture in Le Sentier, in the heart of the Vallée de Joux—renowned as the cradle of fine watchmaking. It is in this discreet and rigorous environment that the inventions that have shaped the Maison’s legacy come to life.
Among its most significant innovations:
- Atmos Clock (1928): a table clock with perpetual motion, powered by a clever mechanism that harnesses the slightest variations in ambient temperature to fuel its movement.
- Caliber 101 (1929): still today the smallest mechanical movement in the world, weighing less than one gram and considered a masterpiece of miniaturization.
Over the decades, the Maison has registered more than 430 patents and created over 1,400 original calibers, establishing itself as a true pioneer in the technical and aesthetic evolution of haute horlogerie.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Watch Collection
Among the creations that best embody the spirit of Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Reverso holds a place of honor. Originally designed to protect the dial during polo matches, its swiveling case system has become an Art Deco design icon. Its rectangular lines, personalization options, and the many complications added over time make the Reverso a symbol of geometric elegance and refined mechanics.
A remarkable example is the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater, powered by Caliber 953 and enhanced by seven patents, including solutions that refine the acoustics of the minute repeater, such as trebuchet hammers and a crystal gong.
The Maison’s craftsmanship excellence also shines in the Reverso One Precious Flowers, a jewelry timepiece in pink gold, where the artistry of master artisans emerges in the setting of 409 diamonds and in the refined enameling of its floral motifs.
For those who prefer a more contemporary aesthetic, the Maison offers the Master collection. In our catalogue, it can be found in three variations:
- Master Ultra Thin: elegance and finesse in an ultra-slim case, designed for those who love essential purity. The clean dial and understated profile make these models perfect for every formal occasion.
- Master Control: a versatile, sophisticated line that reinterprets the classic models of the 1950s with an urban flair.
- Master Grande Tradition: the highest expression of the atelier’s savoir-faire, featuring grand complications such as the tourbillon, minute repeater, and perpetual calendars.
With the Polaris sports watches, inspired by the 1968 Memovox Polaris, Jaeger-LeCoultre highlights dynamic, streamlined lines, the readability of the dials, and practical complications such as GMT and chronograph functions.
In the Rendez-Vous collection, dedicated entirely to the feminine universe, delicacy also finds its place. Each watch in the line is equipped with an automatic movement visible through the sapphire caseback. The dials are adorned with hand-engraved guilloché patterns, mother-of-pearl finishes, or exquisite diamond details.
