L.U.C. 1860

Chopard presents a model that carries on the spirit of the original, the iconic L.U.C 1860, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier. This new edition preserves the original model’s design philosophy while incorporating the technical advancements achieved over the past thirty years. Like its predecessor, this new timepiece features a 36.5 mm case, with ideal proportions that will delight collectors of fine watchmaking. It is crafted from Lucent Steel™ and stands out for its “Areuse Blue” dial, a color inspired by the Areuse River that flows near the manufacture in the Val-de-Travers region. The 18-karat white gold dial features a sunburst guilloché finish handcrafted by the manufacture’s artisans using a special vintage lathe. The dial is further enhanced by additional guilloché rings that capture the light and add depth. The satin-brushed dial ring, the polished yellow gold chevron hour markers, and the Dauphine hands contribute to its overall clarity and harmony. The small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock completes the symmetrical design, intentionally omitting the date window to preserve the model’s purity. The watch is paired with a gray grained calfskin strap. The timepiece is powered by the L.U.C Caliber 96.40-L, a direct evolution of the first movement conceived and produced by the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier in 1996.
