In a timeless spell, Cartier transcends the boundaries of matter and time, relying on the profound savoir-faire of its artisans. True contemporary alchemists, these experts transform metals and stones into precious objects, capable of evoking desire and wonder.

The art of metamorphosis is the beating heart of the Maison's creative vision, which enhances the watch design in a continuous quest for reinvention. Through the transformation of matter and form, Cartier gives life to exceptional timepieces, in which magic and craftsmanship come together to awaken profound emotions and reveal the primordial beauty of the world.

Let’s explore the latest innovations in Cartier haute horlogerie, showcased during Watches and Wonders, the prestigious international event that annually brings together the biggest names in the industry.

The Tank Louis Cartier watch enhances its size

Created in 1922, the Tank Louis Cartier is the direct heir to the original model, the famous Tank Normale. Just five years after its debut, Louis Cartier reinterpreted its design, lengthening the case, tapering the brancards, smoothing the angles and defining the iconic rectangular shape that still represents its essence today.

Today, Cartier reinterprets this classic in a larger size, equipped with a state-of-the-art in-house automatic mechanical movement. The 1899 MC calibre, perfectly integrated while respecting the original proportions, is a key element that has made it possible to increase the dimensions of the Tank Louis Cartier, which is available in elegant rose gold and yellow gold versions.

New Tank à Guichets: an innovative way to read time

Magic, the cornerstone of Cartier's creative vision, permeates every stage in the creation process. Combined with boldness, it enhances the Maison's watchmaking aesthetic, establishing an authentic dialogue between form and function. An example of this is the new Tank à Guichets, powered by the calibre 9755 MC, a manual-winding mechanical movement developed exclusively for this model, featuring jumping hours and continuous minutes.

Faithful to the original design, it features the hour window at 12 o’clock and the minute window at 6 o’clock, with the winding crown also positioned at 12 o’clock. The satin-finished case stands out for its refined contrast with the horizontally polished brancards, which enhance its silhouette. The front side, crafted in brushed platinum or gold, elegantly completes a creation that pays tribute to Cartier's stylistic heritage while projecting it towards a contemporary vision of watchmaking.

The Tressage watch: a Sculptural Masterpiece in Watchmaking

Cartier brings to life a new marvel in watchmaking with the Tressage, a timepiece that captivates with its stunning beauty and the refined transformation of shapes and materials. Gold, diamonds and precious stones are interwoven in a spectacular metamorphosis, guided by the expertise and creative alchemy that has always been the Maison's hallmark.

Radiant and original, yet perfectly aligned with Cartier’s aesthetic codes, this creation naturally fits within the tradition established by iconic models such as Maillon, Coussin, and Réflexion de Cartier. Through a harmonious interplay of contrasts and volumes, the Tressage watch blends yellow gold with the iconic lines of the Cartier language, becoming a true wrist sculpture, an expression of creative and timeless luxury.

The Panthère jewellery watch: a hybrid architecture

The encounter between the excellence and virtuosity of Cartier's master craftsmen gives rise to an extraordinary alchemy, capable of transforming materials into unique creations, enlivened by the iconic presence of the panther.

A true jewellery watch, this creation masterfully merges the art of watchmaking with that of fine jewellery, drawing on aesthetic codes deeply rooted in the Maison’s stylistic heritage. Distinctive elements include a three-dimensional panther caught in the moment before its leap and a “Toi & Moi” bracelet that harmoniously unites the iconic feline with a timepiece of refined, elegant design.

Crafted in yellow gold, the panther is sculpted with extraordinary realism: its body in motion reveals its defined anatomy, while its nose, ears and paw pads are modelled with meticulous care. The tsavorite eyes and onyx nose add expressive depth, creating a sophisticated interplay of contrasts with the black lacquered dial, diamond-set bezel and diamond index at 12 o'clock.

An emblem of strength and grace, this highly expressive creation is part of the Maison's long creative tradition. Cartier's iconic symbol, the panther, continues to renew itself over time, affirming its ability to evolve and its loyalty to timeless values of boldness, elegance and free spirit.

The Panthère De Cartier watch: the jeweller's expressions of an icon

The quintessential jewellery watch, the Panthère continues to take centre stage in a series of creative reinterpretations that enhance its iconic allure. In this new version, Cartier draws inspiration from the animal world to create an abstract coat that harmoniously blends zebra and tiger motifs. The result is a bold graphic composition, featuring contrasts of black and golden-brown lacquer, enriched with pavé-set diamonds and spessartites in warm yellow and orange hues.

This sophisticated reinterpretation of the Panthère watch is the result of exceptional savoir-faire. Proof of this is the hand-applied lacquer fired at high temperature at Cartier’s Maison des Métiers d’Art, and the snow setting that adorns the dial with 145 brilliant-cut diamonds, creating an extraordinary interplay of light and texture.
